The Lakes dashboard can be used to assess the likelihood of a monitoring programme to detect improvements in four lake water quality indicators. The improvements can be specified as target improvements at existing monitoring sites or as expected improvements resulting from land-based mitigations.
Lakes are a particular focal point for restoration and require reliable and consistent monitoring programmes that are comparable between catchments, regions and across the country.
The indicators of lake water quality available in the dashboard are chlorophyll a, Secchi depth, total nitrogen and total phosphorus.
